Welcome back! If you are here for the first time, feel free to snoop around. My blog is sort of an ongoing account of my story with Jesus. It’s always about Him, even when I get derailed and distracted. The way I see it we all have a story in our hearts. When we share them, we connect with others, helping us all to feel not alone. Read on for today’s post.
Do you ever feel nervous and a bit naked in the unknown … when you can’t see what lies ahead?
It’s an amazing thing to know your feet are on His path. You are moving in the righteous direction (pun intended).
Ahead is a forest, though, and it’s thick with trees. You cannot see beyond.
Am I the only one who wonders what else is in store?
Isn’t there a part of you that wants to take a sickle and start chopping away to see the next chapter He is writing in your life? We all have some Eve in us … that yearning to take matters into our own hands to see MORE … to know MORE …
Stripping away self-sufficiency and pride leaves us uniquely vulnerable.
Sometimes anxiety creeps. Our enemy twists His purposeful unknown into darkness.
The serpent slithers and murmurs …
You cannot see where you are going in the dark, you cannot see your way out
We feel exposed.
I will be honest. There are times when I abide with my Jesus, feeling fully supported by His love and wisdom … where I almost forget I am in the unknown.
Then something reminds me of my husband’s post-surgery healing and my career … they are hanging in an abyss … dangling without a clue of the final outcome.
The what if,
The why me
The I just want to know maybe the next few steps You have for me, Lord.
When did it become about me?
Not really sure. I do know that it’s hard to listen to Him when I feel overwhelmed.
Then at the point we begin to question ourselves, our cluttered hearts wonder:
• Will my body be healed?
• Will this house sell?
• Will my marriage survive this storm?
• Will my friend forgive me?
• Will this book have a cover and sit on a store shelf someday?
He reaches down and opens His holy hands.
His fingers, long and large, make a safety net for our whole body. In a hushed tone dripping with abundant grace,
“Come to me, my child. You will know more when the time comes.”
Mark 4:11
Jesus answered them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside get everything in parables.”
Yet He has compassion on us as we slip, trip and fall in the NOT knowing.
Isaiah 30:18
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!
Please join me in this prayer:
Dear Gracious and Merciful Lord,
We praise You for your absolute sovereignty over our lives, our world. There is no one as powerful as You.
Lord, we know You see us getting overwhelmed in the un-knowing. We do trust Your ways are the only ways, but sometimes we get restless in the wait for Your reveal.
We pray to Our beloved Emmanuel to calm our hearts reminding us You are right here.
We pray for Your wisdom to tell the difference between Your direction for us and the world’s pull on us.
We don’t like the world’s lure to overload our mental capacity with people- pleasing rather than serving You.
We trust You to help us cut the weeds out of our lives and focus where Your fruit ripens for its harvest.
Thank you for our worth, with You its more than rubies.
We love You to the ends of our earth and pray this in Your holy name,
Amen

Dearest Bonnie, I love how God works. It is the times when I am hesitant to follow His lead in writing that He is using the words all over the place! I know you and I shared about learning curves. There is no love button that I know of. There is a reblog option, down where you can like a blog. Just FYI, if you ever choose to reblog someone’s post, it goes out to all your email subscribers. I found that out just recently. Be blessed and if you ever need a specific prayer let me know. In His Love, Julie

Wow! Bonnie thank you so very much. I just hope we all can lean into Him. I was just telling someone that it seems I feel pulled by the world more when I lack patience in the wait. Lean into our loving Jesus, and He is there every time!
