As our holiday task lists grow, how will you slow?
The rhythm we keep during this holiday prep time largely determines our ability to be present with ourselves and others.
Turning down the dial on busy may seem unrealistic.
Keeping yourself above water might be a stretch:
The pressure mounts as the household tasks multiply like gremlins. Moms with growing boys know what I mean …
Making decisions about what is necessary and what is not may help reduce your list, but this post is about time with Him.
Some of you may not have the opportunity for quiet time, unless it is in the shower.
Some of you may not have a closet or chair or room that is yours, where you go to be with Our Lord.
Fear not, my friends! In the midst of the coming days, simply look up:
When you step outside to get the mail:
When you are pulling clothes out of your washer:
When you are at Kohls, the grocery or the bank:
When you are in a business meeting that has lost its way:
As you look up, be looking for Him, allow your heart to honestly try to find Him. Though none of us will see God’s holiness on this earth, He sees us. We are His people who turn our faces to Our Living God because we love Him and because we need Him.
He honors when He sees His people wanting to see Him, believing He is there.
There is heavenly power at work when we look up, when we follow His truth that says,
Look to the Lord and his strength, seek His face always (Psalm 105:4).
You will be blessed by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and what ever can top that in this life?
Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing.”
No matter how busy your schedule is, you have time to look up.
Thank you so much for being here. Have you found other ways to seek Him in your daily life as you go about your errands, meetings, and tasks? I would love to hear.
I am claiming His promise of a blessing for those who believe without seeing. I pray that blessing over you today. If you have questions or have a prayer request, feel free to reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org
