Hebrews 7:24-25
But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever. Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
Forever?
Most of us recall fairy tales where the handsome prince rescues the damsel in distress. Riding together on a white stallion, they live happily ever after. Ever means always, at any time, in any way (www.merriam-webster.com). In other words, forever.
We lose that little girl wonder, though. Cinderella was fiction.
Forever is minimized … not because we don’t believe. It just doesn’t apply to the daily grind. When you change several diapers a day or have poured your heart and soul into writing the past ten years, you tend to focus on the next thing.
Potty-training and publication, instead of forever.
Recently I read Don Piper’s 90 Minutes in Heaven after I heard him speak this summer. Mr. Piper knows first-hand the difference between book sales and forever. (I so highly recommend this book for all)

How many other Heaven-sent messengers are taking our orders at restaurants and teaching our children?
Would you know if you brushed elbows with an angel?

Immanuel, God with us.
We are free now and eternally.
Choose freedom from all the trying.
Trying to please
Trying to succeed
Trying to forget
Lets choose to embrace what God has put in our lives in this moment, the seen and the unseen:
Wrap our arms around the baby who left Heaven’s peace and praises.
Welcome His work in our lives: shaping, molding, pruning into Christ-likeness.
As if when He holds a mirror we see our eyes and His lips. Instead of harshness comes sweetness, a life infused with love … a lasting peace and joy never found in the depths of sin.
Let’s believe with every ounce of our souls angels are His undercover Forever-agents (Luke 1:37).
An angel visited Joseph in a dream after he finally resolved to break the marriage plans with Mary:
“Joseph, son of David”, the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21).
God is in the business of reaching us personally and exhibiting His power to draw hearts out of the world of unbelief.
Dreams
Whispers
A stirring on the inside or the outside
A person who shows up in a time of need, then leaves. You wonder if they live here or there.
A speaker who stops when he tells of Heaven, for he knows His glory is angels of peace and joy ever after.
Let’s embrace Jesus’s promise of forever. Today in the Christmas season … and for each of our given days.
Hope has no choice but to grow in a field where angels gather.

Encouragement is a circle-like hug. You encourage and it comes back in an embrace. Julie encourages me, sticks closer than a brother or sister. She’s sharing my encounter that God arranged that encourages me to know without doubt that His hand is on my art.

So full of peace, perspective and encouragement. My nieces were saved by an angel as they played behind a parked car on a hill. For no reason except that the older sister felt strongly to take her sister by the hand and stand to the side; as they stood there the empty car rolled down the hill. My Mom was caught by an angel as she picked up her grandson from his crib. The rug went out from under her and she and the baby floated to the floor unharmed. Thank you for this reminder of our protection from God through angels.

Thank you for your encouragement Liz. The marriage prayed for yesterday is now in Heaven’s hands, though I will keep praying on my own. The wife’s faith is direction for all of us to take when hope looks grim. Anyway, have a blessed Friday. I will get caught up on your blog over the weekend. Today will be my last post before Christmas 🙂
