Our family recently landed at a new church, new to us. God drew me first, then my husband. Our boys are still adjusting.
Yet at last night’s National Day of Prayer event on a main street in our town, our boys came with me. In this photo, all from our church gathered in the beginning to sing songs. No music, but we were very thankful for our music director who led us.
I heard my Braedon singing behind me. Praise to Our Lord for that as we sang, “Lord I lift Your name on high.”
Did our boys talk to lots of people who attend our church? No.
Did Braedon and Jackson pray out loud at our designated prayer times? No.
Did they witness a street-full of brothers and sisters in Christ praying in the name of Jesus for our world, our country’s leaders, our country’s military and fire and police and EMS, for our families in the community who don’t know God, for so many things?
Yes! They saw. I pray they heard, and I pray Holy Spirit grounded their hearts in this truth:
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received (Ephesians 4:1)
we are all called to pray in all things, we are all called to be bearers of the Gospel
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love (v.2)
we are to humble ourselves before the Lord anywhere and everywhere
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (v.3).
join with other believers and honor Our One True God
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called (v.4).
when we act in faith, we say we believe in Our Living Hope that there are better things to come
One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all (v.5-6).
His presence can be felt, seen, heard anywhere, anytime
Join me in this prayer of hope:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Wow! Lord, we love You. We thank You for the privilege, for the courage, and for the opportunity to pray publicly.
We stand on the hope You hear our prayers.
We ask boldly Your Spirit hover upon our needy world. We ask those who don’t know you to come to believe they are loved and forgiven for every last thing they have ever done or said.
We ask for those of us who do love You that You grow our faith to be size of mountains.
In Jesus precious holy name we pray,
Amen

Thank you for reading today!

I have returned to the Five Minute Friday link-up. I want to thank Kate Motaung for never giving up on my silence over the past several months.
If you are interested in joining this link up, Kate gives us a one word writing prompt, and we are supposed to write on it for only 5 minutes. For me, I find setting up the blog post can take longer than that. So I try to have my Scripture and photos ready before I start writing.
go to https://fiveminutefriday.com if you want to join
Have a beauty-full day in Christ,
Julie
I love that you’ve found a place to belong and that you had such an amazing time. I’ll be praying for your boys.

It sounds like a great evening, and I’m sure just being part of a gathering with people uniting in prayer like that will have made an impact on your boys even if you’re not sure what they thought of it all!

Susan, thank you for your visit. It took us about a year and half to find His right fit. May God lead you to the place He has chosen for you and your husband. Have a blessed Friday night. Off to baseball game I go soon⚾️

Thank you for this beautiful prayer, Julie. Yes, may we not take for granted the opportunities and privileges that we have to pray in and for our country and people around us. I’m so glad you were able to participate and that your boys came too. That is such a blessing that will impact them! May you have a wonderful weekend together!
