For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable (Hebrews 4:12-13 NLT).
I am in complete and utter awe how God’s Word is an active force that cannot be stopped.
There are times we skim the Bible or memorize words, without opening our hearts to the power embedded in His truth.
We are small, like grasshoppers.
We will not escape His graceful pursuit of our souls.
Are we Jonah’s who fool ourselves into fleeing from the One who orchestrates our lives? Or are we Moses’ who will climb mountains to hear His voice?
As I prepare to speak next month, I am meditating on the way God moves, not only in ways we can see, but how He transforms beneath the surface.
If you are someone who fears what lies beneath daily tasks, routine greetings, and your morning devotion … be encouraged. He is with you and for you.
Truly the world does not invite vulnerability, but Our Mighty Loving God requires it.
Jesus came, not to condemn, but to save … save us from lies, wounds, pasts that won’t die unless they are exposed, unless we become naked before Him.
Join me in this prayer:
Dear Jesus, Our Lord and Savior,
Lord, we praise Your name! Thank You for giving us the Holy Bible, Your Word which speaks to the unseen, which heals the broken, and makes beauty from despair’s ashes.
Lord, we ask You bring Your people to be brave in our vulnerability before You, that we not fear but rather revere Your holiness.
Lord, help us to receive Your Word for our individual lives today. Grow our discernment that we may know Your truth and refuse false messages. Help up, Lord, be an active participant, growing our faith each and every day we have breath.
In Your precious name,
Amen

You ask two very thought provoking questions >> “Are we Jonah’s who fool ourselves into fleeing from the One who orchestrates our lives? Or are we Moses’ who will climb mountains to hear His voice?” My prayer is that I climb and not flee.

I love God’s Word, Julie! It’s our daily spiritual nourishment. Something we can’t live the victorious Christian life without. Love this thought from the prayer: “Lord, we praise Your name! Thank You for giving us the Holy Bible, Your Word which speaks to the unseen, which heals the broken, and makes beauty from despair’s ashes.” Amen!

Good morning, Karen, I pray some day we can sit across from each other with coffee or tea, His Bible open, and hold hands as we pray. This side of heaven, if He wills.

Great post! ( I confess, when I read your title I wanted to skip the first three posts on FMF and go directly to your post.) Each person is gifted by God to see this weekly prompt in a unique way. I just enjoy reading your blog and other blogs so much!

Thank you so much Julie. Yes, please pray that the allergic reaction that I had after the nerve block is just localized to the prep/wash that was used before the injection. It has settled down now, praise God, and I’m trusting Him for the next time to be ok! Love you Dear Sister!

Wonderful thoughts and post Ms. Julie. I too love how God speaks to me through the words He inspired so many centuries ago. His word truly is a living entity ma’am. For each subsequent generation can learn, grow, and prosper from it. While I know community (the fellowship of the body of Christ) is so important to help encourage and support our spiritual growth, it’s when it’s just me, God, and His word, one-on-one where I think I grow the most. God’s blessings for your wonderful and inspiring post ma’am.

Thank you J.D. for the encouragement here today. Like you, I do find the closer I am with Him in my private quiet time, the more I hear Him speak into my life. En-JOY what remains of this given day, brother. In Christ, Julie

I will always marvel at how great His ability is to speak through all of His creation. Everything that has come from His hand has a unique voice if we would only humble ourselves to listen. One of the greatest of His Words to me came through a simple dandelion. Let us never underestimate His ability to speak directly to us. If we stay humble and open He will delight us with amazing words through the most humble of circumstances. May His Words flow into and through my sister as you speak! Blessings to you!

Oh my yes, Homer, God’s heart is in every molecule of Creation. How beautiful that He used a dandelion to impact your life at a given moment. I relish any time I get with Him. And thank YOU for that blessing. I am tucking it into my heart. I speak not this Saturday but the following two.
