Are You Restless?

      1. Oh, wow, Julie. I appreciate you sharing that. I will add extra prayers for him. My brother-in-law is a retired police officer. I have an enormous amount of respect for all they do for us. I am sure that was heavy indeed. God be with you and your husband. You’re welcome. It’s the best thing we can do in this time.

  1. Amen. Our soul restlessness meets its match in Christ. I needed that reminder. Thank you, Julie! Praying for you and your family. May you sense the keeping power and sustaining love of the Lord safeguarding and protecting you from harm. ❤

  2. I too am restless. I am a believer with an intimate relationship with God. Yet I struggle to reconcile the injustice in our nation, the violent spirit, the racism and the mistreatment of those are trying to protect us. I also struggle with police brutality. I know many white officers, none of which are racist nor do they abuse their authority. But continually, people who look like me are losing their lives. I am restless today my sister because 99% of the protesters are peaceful but ingrates are showing up to wreak havoc and put a stain on the movement. It is time for increased prayer.

    1. Oh sister, thank you for talking with me, sharing with me. It is a war, most of which we cannot see. Thanking God for sending Jesus who is in His new covenant made us all like Him, regardless of color, regardless of sin. So in this time, yes we increase our prayer, our crying out to Our Just God. If we take our eyes off Him, we lose hope because our world is broken, raging in rebellion against all God stands for, who God is. I heard a black female politician talk yesterday about how this reaction stirred up is in an election year, if you look at the last time outrage was stirred in the black community, it was an election year. Puts my eyes back to God to ask Him to lead and convict our country’s leaders to follow Him. So many prayers needed, so many prayers cried, so many but all are heard in heaven. Please know this comment does not mean I have the answer, rather God does. Let’s keep talking, sister.

      1. I have been praying for God to bring justice and open eyes of the blind and for Jesus who came with the government on His shoulders to raise up leaders among us and in government to make change for the good of His people.
