If you could imagine sitting with Jesus right now, what is He saying to you? As His eyes lock with yours, are you leaning in closer? When His hand reaches for you, do you grab hold?
A person’s soul is in grave danger when the knowledge of the doctrine surpasses Jesus, avoiding intimate touch with Him (Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest).
Jesus is a person, not a theology.
Jesus desires an intimate relationship with you.
He wants you to hear Him call you by name.
He waits for your reach and looks to see if you will respond when He comes near.
After counting the number of hairs on your head, He marvels at His creation and says, “It is good.”
That is you, you are His prized possession.
What lies is the enemy whispering that lead you to unbelief?
How is fear, guilt or shame blocking your relationship with Jesus?
As I go forth into a graduate level program to gain more theological knowledge, to allow Him to further prepare me to preach, I need to prioritize my time with Jesus.
My private, intimate time with Him.
The connection He gives me when I seek Him.
His presence that overwhelms my hungry soul when I close my eyes and know He is there.
For there shall be no day on this earth where head knowledge trumps abiding with my Christ.
I am in love.
Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord, your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give to you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes on your houses and your gates (Deuteronomy 6:4-8).
How can you deepen your love this given day for your Lord and Savior?
What needs to go so that Jesus is the center of your life?
How can you walk forth, knowing you are His bride?
Whether you are man or woman, you are the His bride.
Jesus is preparing a wedding feast for all who love Him, for all who cannot get enough time with Him, for all who praise and follow Him wherever He goes.
Will I see you there?
Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear. Then the angel said to me, “write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” (Revelation 19:7-9).
At such a time as this, we need to love Jesus with ALL our strength. It is only then will we have the security of His peace and be used by Him, however He chooses, to advance His Kingdom here on earth.
I do not mean for this post to pressure you, rather encourage you.
If you have already received Jesus as Lord and Savior, you can ask Him to help you love Him.
If you have NOT received Jesus and Lord and Savior, what questions do you need answered before you can say yes to a life with Jesus? You may email me or seek a trusted believer in your immediate community. firstname.lastname@example.org
