Jesus, Our First Love

  1. Amen, so very beautiful and true. Your words here made me think of a song from the 90s, by Robin Mark called “All I Once Held Dear.” The words of the chorus are, “knowing you, Jesus, knowing you, there is no greater thing…” Blessings, love, and prayers this Sunday Morning.

  3. Julie, this is such an important distinction. We are made to be in relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord, not merely adding to our head knowledge of Him. Because it’s all about the heart. The Father’s open heart of compassion, mercy and love for us, and our own heart’s response to being aware of His love. Thank you for pointing it out. I wrote a poem a while back about being the Bride of Christ, imagining the joy of that glorious Day when we truly become His forever. If you’re interested, I could send you the link in my files. It’s one I haven’t had published anywhere yet, just waiting for the right moment, I guess! I love how you’ve dealt with the topic here. You’re definitely a soul on fire. Thank you! Love in Him. 😊💜

    1. Oh Joy, we are not alone in thinking relationship verses head knowledge is a needed and important distinction. I would love to read your poem. I recently taught a class of a small group of Christian women who had never grabbed onto the truth they are His bride. Amazing how He works. If you can share here I will find it, or email, whatever works. Love, Julie

      1. It’s often hard for us to grasp the wonder of it all or think ourselves worthy of such adoring love. Truth is, we’re not, yet God makes us worthy through His Son. Here’s a link to my poem:

Do let me know if it works or not. It’s a longish one so I would prefer not to add it fully here. But if the link fails then I can email it to you instead. Love, Joy xo ❤️

      2. Oh Joy, yes it worked. I had to see it on my computer. It is a beautiful picture you painted of meeting Him, of becoming one, of acknowledging all that has happened and nothing is changed. I can actually see someone dancing as I read, not two, just one bride in anticipation of this glorious day. Thank you so much for letting me in. Praying for you and your family. Love, Julie

    1. Thank you for the prayers, Richard. Still in transition mode. May need to make some changes. Yes to His Word applying to our lives. It is how we live, I mean really live as a child of the light. Have a wonderful rest of this given day, brother.
