Good morning, All,
It is a new day with mercies from an all-powerful and true God.
I will be honest with you. I always have been, though more authentic as God has lifted the veil and helped me shed those old masks of forced identity.
I just finished reading Dietrich Boenhoffer’s book. The Cost of Discipleship. Oh the wisdom conferred from this man’s commune with Jesus! It is from his words, I gained this image of standing in the shadow of the Cross. What a beautiful and powerful sight! That we as called children of God stand together in His shadow, going forth to do good works He planned in advance only in His light, in His righteousness, in His bountiful grace.
So, this morning His sun pours out glory, illuminating the depth of His creation.
Yet, I choose to stand in the shadow of the Cross.
I am still, awaiting more clarity, not seeking the light meant to lead others.
I am humble, laying down all those good intentions, the ones I thought would please Him. Bowed low, I honor Him as the source of all work assigned to me.
I am listening, not straining, but opening. I have learned I cannot hear Him if my mind is racing, even if the tracks are filled with good things.
I am not shaken. Firm, unashamed, not caring about who thinks what of me. Only remembering I am in His shadow, He who took nails but He who took so much more. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most Hight will rest in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). Yes, rest in Him means more than physical rest. It means safety, security, an absolute trust in He who sealed us with His Spirit for a future appointed time.
So, I know not where this blog is going. I sense change, a holy shift, a momentum that is not mine but His.
As His purpose becomes clear, I will share.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
Until then, if you want to connect to share details in this life, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
God is moving among us, even now.
In January 2021, I will begin pastoral training at Weinbrenner Seminary.
In September 2021, a leadership team and I will be standing in the shadow of His Cross at a 4-day Revival.
When we stand in the shadow of His Cross, anything is possible. Here, it is foolish to rely on ourselves, who know not the world from heaven’s perspective. So even if it is not clear to you, join me in the shadow of the Cross. Together, we will move forward in His will, in His timing, in His bountiful grace.
Love in Christ,
