Friends, you who have Covid, you who fear Covid, you who have colds,
This is crazy-making.
God sees you. So do I. Some of you struggle to receive a full breath. Some have unknowingly shared germs because you didn’t know you had it. We are all in this together, whether you have been vaccinated or not, whether you wear a mask or not.
Our Lord hears the chorus of prayers each day, maybe each minute, around the globe for this Covid thing.
I have had a cold since Christmas. No fever, so I didn’t get tested.
Just know the devil is a liar. He prowls around for believers who wallow in self-pity, who mumble and grumble in fear, who neglect prayer.
I have prayed. Sisters have prayed. I have prayed for sisters AND brothers affected by Covid. Each week in church, we cover another and another and another affected by the virus.
I am still the same. Congested and fatigued.
It is not because I lack belief in His power to heal me, to lift all germs causing a fuss in my body.
It must be then His will I am less than my joyful, skippy, on-the-go self.
Humbled low to remember who, and where, my King is.
Those of you low in oxygen, yes, you with eye lids too heavy to lift, you who gives a bland diet its name, you who haven’t showered in days because it is way too cold to be naked … YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
God’s love penetrates and stands upon the very gates of hell.
Maybe He is making your world smaller because He wants to show off. Our Mighty God is a fortress, towering over the virus … bringing your symptoms and mine into the safe shadow of His wings.
Covid/being sick ranges from inconvenient to life-threatening, a rather wide range.
We know what God says about the wide road.
No matter how much it hurts. Put your Bible on the floor. Stand on it.
Cry out to Him: don’t hold back and don’t try to be fancy:
I believe Your promises, You are my Rock, and on You I will stand! and nothing … no scoundrel devil who began as His angel … can tear me away from You. I want You, Jesus, not the virus -not the fear -not the confusion. I just need You, Jesus.
Friends, you have Jesus, and we have each other.
If you have not yet received Him, please email me. We should chat soon. firstname.lastname@example.org.
All glory and honor to Our One True God.
In His amazing love,
